Through our CSR arm Sarfarosh Foundation, in conjunction with Matri Sudha, we launched the ‘Ma Ki Roti’ community kitchen, an initiative by Ma Foundation in Bilaspur to increase the participation of women in the formal workforce.
Puri Oil Mills Limited, the makers of P Mark Mustard Oil, through its CSR arm Sarfarosh Foundation, in conjunction with Matri Sudha, launched the ‘Ma Ki Roti’ community kitchen, an initiative by Ma Foundation, Mumbai, in Bilaspur to increase the participation of women in the formal workforce. The initiative is supported by Puri Oil Mills Limited as part of its CSR outreach in Himachal Pradesh, a state in which its brand has been present for nine long decades. Ma Ki Roti helps women from underprivileged socioeconomic backgrounds to establish community kitchens named ‘Ma Ki Roti’ and also helps these women to scale up the endeavour as they progress and grow.
Speaking about this CSR initiative, Ms Tejasvini Puri, Director, elaborates: “Puri Oil Mills Limited has always been committed to the cause of social service and to supporting socially useful programmes for the welfare and sustainable development of society. In line with this commitment, we are gratified by this opportunity to support a meaningful initiative like Ma Ki Roti. Ma Foundation, an NGO focused on feeding disadvantaged mothers and their children across rural India; the NGO was founded by Ms. Geeta Gopalakrishnan. This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in Himachal Pradesh aimed at improving the lives of women and supporting the health and nutrition needs of their families.
